Ilana Rubenfeld, PhD, is the grande dame of body-oriented psychotherapy and founder of the Rubenfeld Synergy Method®, an alternative healing approach and system for the integration of body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
Author of The Listening Hand, and a pioneer in integrating psychotherapy, intuition, and bodywork, Rubenfeld graduated from the Juilliard School of Music and enjoyed a career in music until a debilitating back spasm changed her path. Over the next 35 years, she went on to become an influential teacher, healer, and inspirational workshop leader.
A well-known keynote speaker, Rubenfeld has presented thousands of lectures and workshops worldwide and conducts a four-year professional certification training program, which has certified more than 400 synergists in the Rubenfeld Synergy Method® over the past 20 years.
Ilana Rubenfeld has been on the faculty of the New York University Graduate School of Social Work and the New School for Social Research. In 1994, she was given the Pathfinder Award by the Association of Humanistic Psychology.
