Rada Boric, Ph.D.
Rada Boric is a leading international feminist, professor, and peace activist. She was born in Zagreb, Croatia, and graduated from the University of Zagreb, where she also completed postgraduate studies in the theory of literature. She was a Fulbright grantee at the University of Indiana. Rada currently teaches Croatian language and Yugoslav literature at the University of Helsinki, Finland, where she is also working on the first Finnish-Croatian-Finnish dictionary. She is a program coordinator at the Center for Women War Victims, in Zagreb, Croatia, and is one of the cofounders of the Center for Women’s Studies in Croatia. She is also a trainer in non-violent communication and conflict resolution, and a spokesperson for women’s human rights and empowerment internationally. Rada was the regional coordinator for the V-Day International 2001campaign, and has supported V-Day events in Croatia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Finland. She co-edited the book The Suitcase: Refugee Voices from Bosnia and Croatia and Women and the Politics of Peace. Her writing also appears in Women in a Violent World and many other books and publications. |
