Dayna Baumeister, PhD, is cofounder of the Biomimicry Guild, a world leading innovation company that draws on deep knowledge of biological adaptations to help designers, engineers, architects, and business leaders solve design and engineering challenges sustainably.
Dayna Baumeister received a bachelor of science degree in marine biology from New College, and a master’s degree in resource conservation and a doctorate in organismic biology and ecology from the University of Montana, where she specialized in dynamics of positive interactions among animal and plant life. With a background in biology, a devotion to applied natural history, and a passion for sharing the wonders of nature with others, she has worked in the field of biomimicry since 1998 as an educator, researcher, and design consultant.
