Carioca is a professional musician, concert performer, and teacher whose music is well known in his native Brazil and in Europe. He has 13 CDs to his credit, with music ranging from traditional Brazilian to contemporary jazz to spirit songs. He plays a wide range of instruments, specializing in guitar, voice, and percussion, and runs his own samba schools in Brazil and Europe.
