Shiva Rose
Shiva Rose's film credits include the 20th Century Fox feature The First 20 Million and HBO's original film 61* directed by Billy Crystal. Shiva also starred in the independent film Black Days and was featured at the 2001 Slamdance Film Festival.
The Hampton Film Festival, the Philadelphia Film Festival and The Jerusalem Festival have accepted Shiva's most recent feature, David and Layla, this summer. Shiva's portrayal of the Kurdish refugee Layla has received great notice. She won "Best Breakthrough Performance in An American Indie" award at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival.
She has also appeared in the features Myron's Movie, Red Roses and Petrol with Malcolm McDowell and Silent Madness-Hollywood Babylon in which Shiva plays the legendary silent screen star Louise Brooks. She completed the short film Dysenchanted, playing the role of Snow White, which premiered at Sundance in January 2004.
Her television credits include the Lifetime series The Division, Gideon's Crossing, and The Practice for ABC. Most recently she appears in the hit T.V. show CSI Miami as Sonya. Shiva has also appeared on stage in numerous productions around the country.
Aside from her work as an actress, Shiva works as a volunteer for various social causes including V-Day and Resource, an organization that feeds the homeless, which she launched while attending college at UCLA. She is a sponsor for VIP, which helps abused children and volunteers at CCFA (Caring For Children With AIDS). Recently she was asked to be a spokesperson for Amnesty International's Refugee Program.
Shiva is recognized for her unique style and fashion sense. She is a favorite among fashion editors and is often included in magazines such as Allure, Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.
She resides in Los Angeles with her husband Dylan McDermott and their daughters. |
