The Voices of Africa Choral Ensemble
| The Voices of Africa Choral Ensemble is an ensemble of African American women who play music that spans the African diaspora. Playing authentic West African percussion instruments, they add soul-stirring a cappella vocals that make their ensemble like no other. In their performances across the landscape of this country and abroad, they continually get the same reaction: People rise to their feet to the rejuvenating vibrations of the music, and are moved in spirit, mind, and body. Many have testified the cessation of physical, spiritual, and mental disease. They are dedicated to utilizing music for the purpose of peace, healing, and unity among all people, and believe that we all can use the spiritual power of the African drum to bring peace to individuals and communities. The Voices Of Africa Choral Ensemble includes Adua Tacheampong, Zakiyyah McKelven, Blanche Baxter, Nyo Agyiriwah, and Nana Akosua Baakan Agyiriwah. |
