Wah!

"My name is Wah! (really!)" So writes this musician, chanter, and spiritual seeker. Wah! is a word that pervades Eastern cultures. In India it is vah . . . In Korea it is transliterated as hoe or hoa. In China, the sound includes a pitchshift. In America, it is wow. In any language, this sound expresses the experience of deep, infinite understanding and wisdom, indescribable bliss. Wah! writes: "I have carried the name for 23 years and I am still on that path of bliss, seeking to understand the nature of my name."

The Wah! band combines bass and drums with harmonium and electric guitar to produce pumping rhythms and seductive spirituality over a cross-cultural mix of pop, rock, and reggae. Wah! has opened for Courtney Love, headlined the Cultural Arts Festival in Yuba City, and appeared on VTV Vancouver Morning Television.

Wah! tours 10 months each year, offering music, stories of inspiration, and sharing her practices and experiences on the spiritual path. Her CDs include Hidden in the Name and Savasana.
