James Finley
Clinical psychologist James Finley is a former Trappist monk at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky, where Thomas Merton was his spiritual director. He has written extensively about Merton and Christian meditation, and has given silent retreats throughout the United States and Canada. His books include Christian Meditation: Experiencing the Presence of God, Merton's Palace of Nowhere, and The Contemplative Heart. His Ph.D. in clinical psychology is from the Graduate School of Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. |
