Todd Shapera
Todd Shapera has been a photographer and writer since the early 1980s, broadcasting stories on NPR, writing speeches for elected officials, writing and photographing stories for global publications, and photographing gala events and private portrait sessions.
Shapera dedicates a portion of his time to documenting critical local and global issues in $1/day economies, including coffee farmers in Peru, the Tsunami recovery in Sri Lanka, and sustainable environmental and development projects in Central American rainforests. In June 2006, Professional Photographer magazine profiled Shapera, writing, "From Westchester to Sri Lanka, Todd Shapera is driven by a passion to capture the inner beauty and resilience of individuals just about everywhere on earth. He is linking disparate worlds through photography."
Shapera has taught photography at the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in Pocantico Hills, New York, and at Children's Village in Dobbs Ferry, New York. |
