She went on to study with Baba Hari Das and the Ashtanga Yoga Fellowship, and furthered her studies in Bhakti Yoga with Jai Uttal and Nubia Texeira, as well as studying restorative yoga and pranayama (breathing exercises) with others. After years of intensive pranayama practice, she completed the Bikram yoga teacher training and the Sivananda Yoga teacher training. Along with teaching yoga and leading trainings, Jessica Robertson has worked in the nonprofit sector with Amnesty International for more than a decade. She has led workshops on human rights for people with disabilities in Panama, taught English in Japan and Spain, and spent many years teaching canoeing to youth in Algonquin Park. She also sings internationally with her sister, Deena Robertson, and their kirtan group, Lila. Their first CD, Myth and Myrrh, has received wide critical acclaim across North America and from their teacher, Jai Uttal. |
