Melissa Blacker, MA

Melissa Blacker, MA, was a director of Oasis Professional Education Programs, as well as associate director of the Stress Reduction Clinic at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She is a senior teacher at the Center for Mindfulness and a guiding teacher (Roshi) in Boundless Way Zen, the first Zen community in North America to bring teachers of different Zen lineages together with the intention of creating a distinctly Western and American vision of Zen.

Melissa Blacker holds degrees in anthropology, music, and counseling psychology with a speciality in grief counseling. She is co-editor of The Book of Mu: Essential Writings on Zen’s Most Important Koan.
