Sierra Bender

Drawing on her professional background in fitness training, years of studying with indigenous healers, and a long-term yoga practice, Sierra Bender has created a self-care system called Sierra 4 Body Fitness & Yoga™ that addresses the emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental parts of our being.

At the age of 32, Sierra Bender suffered an ectopic pregnancy that nearly killed her. Although a semi-professional athlete in great shape, she recognized that her body was crying out for a different kind of attention and care. Unsure of where to start, but determined to find out how to tune in to the messages her body was sending, she closed her eyes and pointed to a spot on the map. She moved to the four corners area of the Southwest and began many years of study that ultimately led to her 4 Body concept.

Bender studied Native American traditions with Navajo medicine men and women for 10 years and then traveled to the Himalaya Mountains of Nepal and the Andes Mountains of Peru where she studied the healing traditions of these spiritually rich areas. She studied yoga with Yogi Bhajan and is a certified Prana Yoga and Kripalu Yoga teacher. She is also a certified personal trainer, Kripalu bodyworker, massage therapist, medical intuitive, energetic healer and has trained in exercise physiology, nutrition, aromatherapy, menopausal heath, addictions, and abuse.

After years of study, she blended the similarities of these various traditions and created Sierra 4 Body Fitness & Yoga, a holistic fitness program designed specifically for women. It addresses all 4 bodies of human experience—the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual—to facilitate profound personal transformation. It is designed for women at all levels of fitness and taps in to the full spectrum of human experience, teaching how to listen to the body’s natural wisdom, strengthen healing capacity, and meet fears head on.
