George Kaufman


George Kaufman George Kaufman is a teacher, writer, lawyer, storyteller, and workshop leader who serves as Omega's vice chairperson and director of its Institutional Advancement department. He has served as a lawyer in New York City and Washington, D.C., specializing in nonprofit law and working primarily with universities and charitable institutions. As vice chairperson, Kaufman has guided Omega's development office, and has participated in the creation of Omega's Sanctuary, Hermitage, Yearning Pond, and Ram Dass Library. His wife Helen is a therapist and artist, and his two daughters work in the field of Chinese healing arts, specializing in acupuncture. George and Helen live in a cohousing community in Saugerties, New York.
