Money—Omega Costa Rica

Dollars & Colones

U.S. dollars are accepted at most locations in Nosara, Costa Rica, but it's best to change some money into colones, Costa Rica's currency, as the exchange rate at the point of sale isn't always favorable. Credit cards are not universally accepted, so it's best to travel with some cash, preferably in small denominations ($1, $5, $10, and $20).

Blue Spirit Retreat accepts all major credit cards, U.S. dollars, and will exchange small amounts of dollars (up to approximately $100) for colones. There are ATM machines located in nearby Nosara.

Exit Tax

There is a charge of approximately $26.00 U.S. dollars at the airport upon departure; this is best paid in cash.

Gratuities

A number of people work hard—cleaning, cooking, and maintaining the grounds—to make your stay at Blue Spirit Retreat a pleasant one. There is a suggested gratuity of $50 U.S. dollars per guest per week for these services, which can be given to reception when you check out.
