The Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL) is an innovative educational center that combines the most technologically advanced green building and natural wastewater treatment technologies. It is a cutting edge educational facility where we will teach and model the importance of environmental sustainability.

The OCSL will serve visitors through tours, classes, programs, and curricula regarding environmental sustainability, individual and organizational responsibility, and hope. Our constituency includes a variety of groups who will be able to learn about green living in an experiential way.

• Grade school children from neighboring school districts will be able to take programs on the environment and stewardship.
• Colleges and students can learn about natural wastewater treatment systems and personal lifestyles that restore the environment.
• Developers who want to incorporate green building techniques can learn from Omega's pioneering efforts with the Living Building Challenge.
• 20,000 annual visitors who come to Omega for various reasons will be able to integrate environmental sustainability into their experience.
• Businesses can learn ways they can reduce their carbon footprint.
• Other interested groups that will come to the OCSL as a travel destination will learn about environmental sustainability.

The Omega Center for Sustainable Living is slated to become the first Living Building in the United States and to receive LEED Platinum certification. The OCSL will serve as the heart of Omega Institute's ongoing environmental sustainability initiatives, and as an environmental model that can be seen, understood, and replicated locally and nationally.

Why? Because our society can no longer function in a way that damages the environment and the planet, but there is hope. Visitors to the Omega Center for Sustainable Living will leave inspired to bring change into the world. We can make a real difference when armed with the knowledge, dedication, and purpose that a place like the OCSL provides.
