Continuing Education
Guidelines
Participation.
To qualify for CE/CME credit you must be registered in the workshop, have paid all fees in full, attended all sessions, and fully and actively participated in the program. You must pre-register for CE/CME credit; please be sure to include all related fees when you register.
Fees. There is a $30 fee for CE/CME credit, unless stated otherwise in the course description. There will be an additional $25 fee for certificates that need to be reissued.
Procedures. To receive accreditation you must sign in daily at your workshop and drop off your (signed) disclaimer form, continuing education request form, workshop evaluation form, needs assessment form and/or disclosure form (if applicable) at the Main Office on the last day of your workshop. Six to eight weeks after receipt of all completed forms and fees, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. Failure to submit all paperwork & fees at the conclusion of the workshop will disqualify you from receiving your CE/CME credit.
Certificate of Attendance. There is a $25 fee for a Certificate of Attendance for a workshop that you have attended, unless stated otherwise in the course description. In six to eight weeks, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance. There will be an additional $25 fee for certificates that need to be reissued.
Sponsors
The Institute for the Advancement of Human Behavior (IAHB) and Omega Institute have entered into a joint sponsorship agreement to provide quality educational activities that are available for professional continuing education credit.
IAHB is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization located in Portola Valley, California. Its mission is to provide innovative, top quality continuing education and continuing medical education activities for professionals. The Institute's programs encompass a comprehensive and multidisciplinary array of educational activities in the form of workshops, conferences, multi-media home-study materials, and customized training programs. IAHB has been approved as a provider of continuing education and continuing medical education by the organizations listed. Please refer to accreditation chart for designated activities and hours for your profession.
Bodyworkers and Massage Therapists:
The Institute for the Advancement of Human Behavior is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider. Approved Provider # 450111-06.
Certified Counselors: IAHB is recognized by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. IAHB adheres to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines (NBCC Provider #5216).
Physicians: The indicated activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of IAHB and the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. IAHB is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. IAHB designates indicated educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ per hour attended. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Fitness/Athletic Trainers:
IAHB is recognized by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification, Inc. (NATABOC), to offer continuing education for certified athletic trainers. Provider No. #P3330.
Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors: IAHB is approved by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors Approved Provider Program (NAADAC). Indicated activities are offered for 1 CEH per contact hour. (NAADAC Approved Education Provider #187)
Nurses: IAHB is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Utah Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. (UNA= 1.2 contact hours per hours attended, Provider Code P06-02). Provider approved by the CA Board of Registered Nursing (BRN Provider CEP#2672) for 1 credit hour per each contact hour.
Psychologists: This program is co-sponsored by IAHB and Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. IAHB is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to offer continuing education for psychologists. IAHB, as the APA Approved Sponsor, maintains responsibility for the program and its content.
Social Workers and Counselors State Accreditations: IAHB is approved by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners (Provider #0103). Designated courses meet the qualifications for MFTs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider #PCE-36). IAHB is approved by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation for marriage and family therapists (License # 168-000119) and the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation for registered social workers (License # 159-000223). IAHB is approved by the State of Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners to sponsor Category I continuing education programs. IAHB is approved by the State of Texas Board of Social Work Examiners to provide continuing education activities for social workers. Provider No. CS3876. IAHB has been approved by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists to provide continuing education activities.
Note: Many state boards accept offerings accredited by national or other state organizations. If your state is not listed, please check with your professional licensing board to determine whether the accreditations listed are accepted.
In all cases, IAHB as the approved sponsor maintains responsibility for the educational activities offered and for following the standards and regulations for the organizations listed above.
